In 1944, Wilmer James and Tony Hill founded a successful ceramics studio in Los Angeles and experienced commercial success. While their partnership was short-lived they continued to influence the mid-century art, architecture and interior design industries. James would relaunch her career in printmaking and founded the Art Center of the Exceptional Children’s Foundation, a center dedicated to serving children with special needs. Tony Hill would continue to produce ceramics for 30 years, operate an export/import business and was a noted bachelor and host in Hollywood.
